TTD Board meeting was held on Sunday at Annamayya Bhavan Tirumala. Chairman Karunakar Reddy, in presence of EO Ramanachari released the decisions of the Board Meeting to the reporters.

Accommodation to 12 Thousand Pilgrims with Rs. 314 Crores
A huge Complex bigger than existing Srinivasam Complex at Tirupati is proposed at Tirumala with an expenditure of Rs. 314 Crores for accommodating 12000 pilgrims under one roof. Rooms, Pilgrims and Amenities complex are also proposed in the plan, but the location is yet to be decided.

Free Food to 10 Thousand Pilgrims at a time
New Complex for serving free food for 10000 pilgrims at a time is proposed as present complex is not able to cater to the demands.

Training to priests in Dalita Settlements
Presently TTD is imparting training to those who do adorations and other temple rituals for temples situated at Fishermen Settlements across Andhra Pradesh. Similarly, the same facility would be extended to those who do adorations and temple rituals at Temples situated at Dalit Settlements, it is proposed.

Amritotsavam from June
Seventy Five years completed on formation of TTD. A year long Amritotsavam is proposed to mark the event.

Mangala Sutram to even Higher Income Groups
Mangala Sutrams are supplied free to poor in Kalyana Mastu Programme and the facility is proposed to be extended to middle and higher income groups also. Mangala Sutrams weighing 5 grams and 10 grams will be sold like Lord's Gold Dollars. 10000 such Mangala sutrams are ordered for the purpose and they will be offered at Lord before sale.


Financial Assistance to 1000 Students
TTD will extend financial assistance at the rate of Rs. 300 per month to those students studying in Municipal and Zilla Parishat High Schools and who secure 500 and above marks at 10t Class during their higher Technical and/or PG study. In other words, TTD would pay each student during his 2 years Intermediate course, 3 Years Degree Course and 2 Years PG Course, thus Rs. 25200 for 7 years through Vidya Dana Trust. In comparison with assistance provided to children of TTD Staf, Students of Vedic School, this proposal to pay for poor students is a commendable step.

Silver Dollor at Subsidy to those who walk to Hill
Lord's Silver Dollar weighing 3 grams will be provided at subsidized rate of Rs. 100/ each to those who walk upto the hills.

22 Vedic Scholars Regularised
22 Vedic Scholars working in Tirumala Veda Pathasala are regularized.

Annual Payment of Fees to Wards of TTD Staff for MBBS & BMS Courses
It is decided to pay Rs. 55000 and Rs. 40000 per annum to those children of TTD Staff who are studying MBBS & BMS respectively.


'Bala Bharati' Books to Schools
It is decided to supply five Bala Bharati Books depicting the life history of Vidura, Annamayya, Nammalwar, Druva etc to the 90000 schools across the state with an expenditure of Rs. 18 laks.

Junior College to Deaf
TTD is imparting school education upto 10th class in a special school for Deaf & Dumb children. Now TTD decided to start a Junior College for them.

Brahmotsavams to Parsareswara Swamy
It is decided to revive Brahmotsavams to Lord Parasareswara Swamy at Narayana Vanam from 1st July this year.

Committee for Minimum Wage
Since Communist Parties agitating against the non payment of minimum wages to workers in different departments of TTD, it is decided to form a Committee with three of Board Members and TTD Officials to study the wage structures of workers in various departments of TTD. The Committee will recommend measures to pay minimum wage.

1020 Apartments for TTD Staff
It is decided to construct 640 Apartments at 7 Acres land in Vinayak Nagar and 380 Apartments in 63 Cents land for allotment to eligible TTD Staff.

Dal & Ghee to Pilgrims
It is decided to serve Dal (Muddapappu) and Ghee at Free Food henceforth.
