600th Birth Anniversary Celebrations
of Annamayya
Tirupati, March 18
600 Birth Anniversary celebrations of Poet Saint Annamacharya
will be hosted at saint's birth place Tallapaka as well as
at Tirupati simultaneously from April 19th to 21st according
to TTD Chairman Karunakar Reddy. He was attending the review
meeting held for the purpose at Tirupati with officials on
Tuesday and stressed that Annamayya birth Anniversary celebrations
should be conducted in more grandeur style in comparison with
Thyagaraja Aradhana at Guruvayoor. Each and every one who
brought open the Annamayya's literature and music to this
world would be invited to attend the celebrations, he suggested.
Chief Minister Rajasekhar Reddy will unveil the 108 feet statue
of Annamacharya on April 19th at Tallapaka. He has requested
the officials to organize a Nagara Sankeertana from Rajampeta
in Kadapa District to Tallapaka village with thousands of
devotees, Scholars, Artistes, Music Lovers and Literates.
TTD EO Ramanachari said TTD would organize Srivari Kalyanam
and Unjal Sewa at Tallapaka during the occasion.
