Adorations to Deity of Lord's Kingdom

Lord Rudra, presiding deity of Lord Venkateswara's kingdom, manifested at Gogarbham in Tirumala received adorations on Shiva Ratri. Raj Sekhar Sastri said that this place has mythological significance where Rudra is manifested. Pandavas performed spiritual woe here and as such it is called 'Pancha Pandava Teertham', he added. King Bheema hit the earth with his weapon (Gada) to fetch water and the earth was shaken as a result. To get the sin washed away, Pandavas donated a cow and as such this place is called Gogarbam according to Sastri. Entry to temple to those who sinned was restricted and only those who pay 1.25 paise as penalty with confession only were allowed entry, he further informed.
