Funds' Crunch to Birdd

'Birdd' has special place in treatment of physically challenged attracting scores of patients through the country. But basic facilities elude them in the hospital. Poor have to suffer in purchasing right from bandage to medicines. Its all due to TTD's indifferent attitude in allocation of funds to this prestigious hospital.

Patients increase year by year, statistics show that 40000 patients in 2006 and 54000 patients in 2007 had treatment here. Surgeries cross 5000 per year. Admission is allowed after blood test and xray, but scarcity of HIV kits in blood bank and bandage and other material make the poor patients to buy them.

Patients may get reprieve as TTD has okayed the proposals sent by Hospital for purchase of equipments.
