Kalyana Venkanna Brahmotsavams

Tirupati, Feb 26: 
The annual Brahmotsavams of Kalyana Venkanna at SrinivasaMangapuram
commenced today with the temple priests performing the 'Dhwajarohanam'
amid chants of 'GovindaNama'.
The Garuda Dhwajam was hoisted on the Dhwaja Stambham at the
auspicious 'meena lagnam" at 8:45 a.m. Chanting sacred
hymns, temple priests hoisted the flag, which fluttered in
the gentle breeze heralding the commencement of the annual
Brahmotsavams of Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy.
Scores of devotees, attended the ritual and offered prayers
to the processional deity, who was brought out of the temple
on Tiruchi, prior to Dhwajarohanam. In the afternoon, 'snapana
tirumanjanam' was performed to the processional deity and
His consorts.
The entire Srinivasa Mangapuram was decorated with welcome
arches and illuminations to reflect the festive mood of the
village. Houses in the Srinivasa Mangapuram and neighboring
villages were also spruced up and decorated as part of the
celebrations.
Later in the evening, the processional deity, bedecked in
precious ornaments and flowers, was taken out on Pedda Sesha
Vahanam along the four mada streets of the temple. Hundreds
of devotees offered 'harathis' to the Lord on the occasion.
TTD chairman B Karunakar Reddy, Executive Officer KV Ramanachary,
JEO N Sreekanth, Dy EOs TAP Narayana, A Vasudevan and others
participated in the rituals.
