Pilgrims puzzled
March 17, 2008

Its testing time and testing place for Devotees at Tiruchanoor Traffic. Devotees have to arrest themselves to reach out to Goddess' Temple after alightening from their vehicle. The reason is that the vehicles are to be parked on the road itself as there is parking zone. Thousands visit the temple daily. More than half of the visitors visit on their own vehicles. Since there are no proper parking arrangements, vehicles are parked besides the temple. No measures are initiated to arrange Tourist Bus Stand, though there is a proposal. Tiruchanoor Panchayat is eyeing on Toll fee only not on facilities to Tourists. Parking vehicles behind temple stopped due to repair works. Road in front of temple is very narrow to park the vehicles. Devotees face lot of trouble to walk over to temple due to parked vehicles on the narrow road in front of Temple.

A proposal was mooted to arrange Tourist Bus Stand at Pudi Junction and land was allotted for the purpose, but that was shelved due to various obstacles. More than half of the devotees to Lord visit Goddess and Devotees suffer due to traffic puzzling there, at times sustaining injuries too while reversing the vehicles. Devotees lose patience before reaching temple. Lack of police or TTD Security is also adding the woes of devotees.
