Sri Venkateswa Jalanidhi Scheme
Overview
Sri Venkateswara Jalanidhi Scheme is a unique
scheme evolved by TTD to provide adequate water for the pilgrims'
use in and around Tirupati and Tirumala.
TTD is currently spending several crores of rupees on maintenance
and electrical charges for supplying 20 lakh gallons of water
per day. It also spends a sizeable part of its income to improve
water resources at Tirumala. TTD has taken up a massive project
with an estimated cost of Rs. 100 crores to construct Kumara
Dhara and Pasupu Dhara dams on Tirumala Hills to provide drinking
water to the pilgrims.
Objective
The aim of the scheme is to utilize the donations received
for supplying water for drinking and other basic needs of
the pilgrim public. This includes the floating population
at Tirumala (Panchayat) and Tirupati (Municipality). Later,
this facility will be extended to people in the surrounding
areas too. The funds will be utilized for purposes such as
construction of dams, check dams, storage tanks, percolation
tanks and to raise the available water resources.
Donation amount
The minimum contribution for the scheme is Rs. 1,0007-..Donation
amount sent below Rs. 1000/-will be credited to the account
of Srivari Hundi with out any intimation to the Donor. All
donations are deposited in a Nationalised Bank, and the interest
earned is utilized for the scheme.
Donations can be made by way of cheque/demand draft on any
Scheduled Bank drawn in favour
of the 'Executive Officer, Sri Venkateswara Jalanidhi Scheme,
TTD, Tirupati' and can be sent to Chief
Accounts Officer, TTD, Tirupati - 517083. For further Information

Individuals,
films, companies etc. can make donations, and they are eligible
for
Income Tax benefit under Section 80(G) of the Indian Income
Tax Act.
Special
Privileges for the Donors
Kumkum Prasadam will be given with the blessing of Goddess
Sri Padmavathi Ammavari
Temple.
Free Darshan for one person on any day once in a year, through
the special entrance of the
temple.
