Fervour marks Parveti Utsavam

Religious fervour marked the Parveti Utsavam of Lord Venakteswara celebrated
inTirumala today.
The processional deity Lord Malayappa Swamy, richly decorated in diferent
ornaments and a host of hunting weapons known as panchayudhas -'Sankham,
Chakram, Gada, Bana and Khadgam' was taken in a procession to Parveti
Mandapam, about 2 km from the main temple.
The lord atop a golden Tiruchi symbolically hunted the wild beasts in
the forest, while the temple priests, led by chief priest AV Ramana Deekshitulu,
ran ahead carrying golden spears.
TTD Executive Officer KV Ramanachary, JEO G Balaramaiah, DyEO Chandramohan
Naidu and others were present on the occasion.
