Tiruchanoor wears festive look
All set for Karthika Brahmotsavams

The temple town of Tirupati and Tiruchanoor have been spruced up for the Karthika Brahmotsavams of Goddess Padmavathi, which will begin on Wednesday .with Ankurarpanam.
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has made elaborate arrangements to meet the pilgrim rush. The twin towns, which have been illuminated for the grand event, wear a festive look on the eve of Brahmotsavams.
TTD Executive Officer KV Ramanachari appealed to devotees to participate in the sacred fiine-day annual festival in large numbers and get the divine blessings of Goddess Sri Padmavathi. The EO is reviewing arrangements from time to time with heads of various departments to ensure the smooth conduct of the festival.
Ankurarpanam ritual will be held between 6.30 and 7.30 pm marking the beginning of Brahmotsavams. The temple administration has made arrangements to provide free food to pilgrims at Padmavathi Kalyana Mandapam. Annaprasadams will be distributed to devotees round-the-clock during the festival. For the convenience of pilgrims, Tholappa Gardens Kalyana Mandapam Complexhas been converted into an amenities complex.
Two deputy EOs, three AEOs, four superintendents and 10 assistants have been deputed to Padmavathi temple exclusively to oversee the arrangements for the event. For the first time, closed circuit cameras have been installed in and around the temple for surveillance. Two sub-inspectors and an assistant vigilance and security officer will monitor security at the temple round-the-clock.
According to temple deputy EO TAP Narayana, Dhwajarohanam (Dec 6), Gajavahanam (Dec 10), Garuda Seva (Dec 11) and Rathotsavam (Dec 13) are the important events of the festival. The annual fete concludes on Panchami Theertham day.
